Corr's Tours 2012 Update

Here is where we are going.
John and I have been figuring and figuring, and drinking wine, and figuring, and figure that the cost for this year's one week guided tour of the Beaujolais will run approximately $1500 per person for the week, not including airfare to France.  That runs about $900 from State College to Lyon on US Air, but folks coming from larger cities or willing to drive to major hubs may be able to find a better deal than that. The plan is to all meetin in Lyon on Saturday morning, April 28th and rent a small bus that will transport us to Cogny and Les Buis du Chardonnet where we will spend the week.  All the costs for the week are included--accommodations, food in house, food eaten in restaurants, wine, admissions to the Fete des Crus wine festival, and all transportation for the week.  If it sounds too good to be true, it is.  We are not in a 'for profit" mode on this venture yet.  This is the Beta test, after a very successful Alpha run last May. This message is going out to friends and friends of friends and we hope to take a group of 10 this spring.  In two short months! so if you are on board, let me know--I'll hold you a spot.  All systems are go.  J'ai hate de vous voir! (Can't wait to see you!!)

Corr's Tours 2012

How the village looks right now with a dusting of snow

Ghislaine, John and I are hard at work planning the next tour for the Fete des Crus celebration in Beaujolais this spring.  Here are the dates:

April 28 to May 5, 2012
A bright and beautiful Les Buis du Chardonnet

Grand scheme:  Arrive in Lyon on Friday, April 27th and stay overnight at the Hotel des Celestines not far from the old part of the city.  Leave at 11 the next day to drive north to Cogny, after stopping by a street market and visiting the Lumiere Museum (go to see Hugo! go to see The Artist!) in the afternoon.  Walking tour the tiny village of Oingt that evening and dinner at a restaurant in the village.  Home early to get rested up for our big Sunday in the village of Morgon where we will taste all the crus (best wines) of the region.

Here it the link to the wine festival: http://www.fetedescrus-beaujolais.fr/venir/tarifs-resa

The organic grapevines at Les Buis du Chardonnet are enjoying the blanket of snow
More to come soon.  I'll be sending our the week's itinerary so you can see what will be going on each day.

Meanwhile, look at last year's photos and descriptions.  I can only make one promise--that it will be even better in person than the photos suggest.  C'est parti! (Here we go!)
