Harvest Day, Morning

On Saturday we had breakfast with Denise and Raymond Longefay in St. Lager before heading over to Cogny to Ghislaine and Michel Perroud’s Les Buis du Chardonnet property. The morning pickers were already in the field by the time we got there, young friends of their son Loic who served as commander in chief in the vineyard. Yay—the next generation takes over!

When the morning’s grapes were ready they rode up by tractor to the press in Michel’s cellar and got hauled off and dumped into the press. Soon the juices will flow!
