Sunday Lunch, Chez Longefay

Nothing is better than to sit at the table with the Longefay family and have Denise place platter after platter of delicious food in front of you, seemingly out of nowhere. She is a magician! The house always has the most delicious smell of tomatoes and peppers with a hint of garlic, her own kitchen perfume. Merci beaucoup, Denise!
Our lunch of salad with Dijon dressing, Gateau de Foie (liver cake, so much better than it sounds; ethereal) and Quenelles in a tomato and mushroom sauce, Zucchini Gratin, Fromage Blanc, which has no equivalence in the US, a cross between yogurt and fresh cheese, topped with red currant coulis, and the the piece de resistance, fresh plum clafoutis—which Denise’s sister Annie joined us for. So fun to see the “girls” together! Bon Appetit~
